Pressure Control Valves by RSG Regel- und Steuergeräte GmbH

Coolants consisting of oils or emulsions are typically used in metal machining applications. Precisely regulated coolant pressure at the tool ensures optimal lubrication, achieving superior results on valuable work pieces even at the highest cutting speeds. Our valve series guarantees reproducible tolerances, dimensional accuracy, and the highest surface quality for work pieces in series production.

Metal chips, including those from the deepest blind holes, can only be safely rinsed out with accurately controlled coolant pressure. This ensures perfect cooling of the tool cutting edges and prevents premature tool wear.

The RSG series 785 pressure limiting valves provide precise pressure control, independent of the coolant volume. Coolant requirements can fluctuate significantly depending on the machining cycle, such as during tool changes, switching the tool on and off, and feed adjustments. Excess coolant is returned to the coolant tank via the valve without any noticeable pressure fluctuations. These pressure regulating valves supply the system with precise coolant pressure and protect pipes and pumps from overpressure damage, acting as pressure limiting valves (DBV). Since they are installed in the return line of the coolant supply, they are also known as bypass valves.

The RSG 785H (10-200 Bar) AISI303 stainless steel series offers a 90 degree port from inlet to outlet for better installation and 780H (5-120 Bar) coaxial galvanised steel pressure limiting valves both feature manual pressure control via an external air pilot, whilst the 785P (3-200 Bar 90 degree) and 780P (5-120 Bar) valves offer an additional solenoid valve for on/off flow control which is typically 24vDC or 230vAC 50/60 Hz but 12vDC, 24vAC and 110vAC are also available.

The RSG 785E 90 degree (12-200 Bar) and 780E coaxial (5-120 Bar) valves operate electro-pneumatically, with the set pressure being controlled via a bypass valves operate electro-pneumatically and are controlled by a set point signal (0-10 V), providing continuous coverage of the full pressure control range. (Proportional). The main supply voltage is 24vDC, so when the 24 volt supply voltage is on, the pressure control is active and the valve is open, allowing all coolant to flow into the tank in a pressure-minimised circulation circuit. This function is ideal for the soft start of positive displacement pumps or for changing tools and work-pieces when no coolant is required.

The RSG series valves are often used with frequency-controlled positive displacement pumps. These valves manage rapid pressure control requirements and provide burst protection. In this system, the frequency-controlled pumps deliver the required coolant volume, resulting in an energy-efficient solution. These reduce pump electricity costs and significantly lowers heat input into the coolant. The RSG series is primarily used with coolants composed of oils or emulsions.
