Shako SPU225 Solenoid Valve
The Shako SPU225 series 2 way 316 stainless steel solenoid valve is a pilot assisted open/close electrically actuated valve for the ON/OFF control of fluids and gaseous media that are compatible with the materials of construction. Sometimes referred to as a servo assisted, pressure assisted or floating diaphragm valve the SPU225 valve is designed to utilise the pressure differential between inlet and outlet to control the opening or closing of the valve diaphragm.
The SPU225A is a 2/2-way (2 port / 2 positions) normally closed solenoid valve designed to stay closed until electrical power is applied. When power is applied the coil is magnetised which in turn lifts the armature revealing a small pilot hole which allows the pressure above the diaphragm to vent downstream so that the inlet pressure is able to fully lift the diaphragm allowing full flow through the valve. When the power is removed, the armature drops back over the pilot hole, pressure increases above the diaphragm and the valve fully closes again within 20 to 50 milliseconds
The NOSPU225 (or SPU225AN) is a 2/2 way normally open valve will stay open until electrical power is applied, at which point the armature covers the pilot hole prevent media above the diaphragm venting downstream and the inlet pressure presses the diaphragm back into the closed position and the valve is fully closed. Pressure: differential pressure range is from 0.5 to 10 Bar (difference between inlet and outlet pressure) with maximum working pressure of 15 Bar. The minimum pressure differential is 0.5 Bar (7 psi).
Diaphragm materials: FKM rubber is standard, with options for NBR, EPDM or HNBR.
Solenoid coils: Standard coil is a 15 watt IP65 Class H CE DIN43650A 100% duty rated Nass Magnet System 13/30 coil voltages from 12vDC through to 380vAC, optional ATEX EExmIIT4 for hazardous area zones 21 and 22 voltages from 12vDC to 240vAC.
Materials of construction: Body Forged Stainless Steel CF8M, Tube and internal parts Stainless Steel.
Ambient temperature range: -20C to +60C (according to solenoid coil)
Media temperature range: -40C to +160C (according to seal material)
Compatible media: Is based according to the materials of construction and diaphragm chosen, typically the SPU225 valve is referred to as a General Purpose Solenoid valve, in that it is typically used for Compressed Air, Inert Gases, water, glycol, diesel and slightly aggressive and corrosive liquids and gases such as slight acids and alkali's.
