Stainless steel solenoid valves
Stainless steel solenoid valves for air, water, oils, fuels and inert gases & fluids will have a 304 or 316 CF8M stainless steel body, stainless steel internals including 430F magnetic stainless steel armature, 304 stainless armature tube, 302 stainless armature spring and a choice of either NBR, EPDM, Viton, HNBR elastomer or PTFE sealing.
Solenoid Valve Operation Explained
Zero Rated = valve operates from vacuum up to maximum working pressure of valve.Sometimes referred to as a direct acting, kick pilot, assisted lift or hung diaphragm solenoid valve.
Pilot Assist = Uses the pressure difference between the valve inlet port and outlet port to Open & Close, typically requires minimum 0.5 Bar (7psi) higher inlet pressure than outlet pressure. Sometimes referred to as a floating diaphragm, servo assisted or internal pilot valve.
Solenoid Valve Function Explained
2/2 Normally Closed Zero Rated = valve stays closed requires power to open, operates from vacuum up to maximum design pressure of valve.
2/2 Normally Closed Pressure Assisted = valve stays closed requires power to open uses the pressure difference to Open & Close, requires minimum 0.5 Bar (7psi) higher inlet pressure than outlet.
2/2 Normally Open Zero rated = valve stays open requires power to close, operates from vacuum up to maximum design pressure of valve.
Zero Rated = Operate from Vacuum to valve max working pressure.
2/2 Normally Open Pressure Assisted = valve stays open requires power to close uses the pressure difference to Open & Close, requires minimum 0.5 Bar (7psi) higher inlet pressure than outlet.
Latching = Power pulse to stay open, then reverse polarity power pulse will stay closed.
3/2 + 5/2 way = 3 or 5 ports for diverting flow, typically for air actuated valves and cylinders.
ATEX Solenoid Valves. Can be 2/2, 5/2 or 5/2 way valves used in hazardous areas where there could be a risk of a potentially explosive or combustible atmosphere of gases or dusts that could be ignited by a spark or flame. These valve have increased protection for hazardous area applications, including ATEX EExmIIT4 protection by encapsulation, ATEX EExdIICT6 protection by enclosure or EEXiaIICT6 intrinsically safe protection.
